PAG have announced the purchase of 1000 units of its new Gold Mount (3-Stud, Snap-On) compatible, high-current, PAGlink battery by Video Equipment Rentals (VER), one of the largest rental suppliers of motion picture, television, broadcast and news gathering technology in North America.
“PAG has long been a leading supplier of power products for cinema and newsgathering, and its PAGlink technology continues its history of innovation,” said VER Cinema Market Manager Wayne Miller.
“VER is always looking for breakthrough tools that can benefit our customers and so it’s only natural that we are embracing the new Gold Mount PAGlink battery. We are fans of Li-Ion for its dependable battery life and combining that with PAG’s groundbreaking PAGlink technology results in a product that surpasses the competition.”
Slated for launch at NAB 2014, the PAGlink HC-PL94T Li-Ion battery is compatible with Gold Mount camera plates and is designed as a replacement for all Anton/Bauer Li-Ion batteries. The batteries employ PAG’s innovative linking technology so that two or more may linked to allow higher current and longer run times. Uniquely, four or more PAGlink batteries can be linked for charging on AB Li-Ion chargers, resulting in a 16-channel unit. That means less battery swapping and fewer chargers. At NAB, PAGlink HC-PL94T will be showcased by Manios Digital & Film, the US Agent for PAG, on stand C9539.
Miller called the PAGlink battery a welcome addition for a wide variety of applications. “Certainly our friends in the reality market are going to fall in love with this battery,” he observed. “It will also be popular for newsgathering and for cinema production due to its high capacity and flexibility. The ability to stack these batteries on a traditional charger will lead to big savings in space and cost.”
VER will begin accepting delivery of the new batteries in late April. “When we see something that offers our clients improved dependability and value, we do not hesitate in making a large investment,” Miller said
