SmallHD delivers the first high definition, full colour gamut (99% REC709 / 97% DCI-P3) camera-top monitor with their DP7-PRO-OLED-SX, which meets the colour accuracy needs of cinema, broadcast and high-end web content producers.

Cinematographers have never had an on-camera monitor that reproduces their shot the same way it will be seen in post production. This has been due to a lack of display resolution or colour gamut accuracy (or both in many cases).

Today’s large “reference quality” monitors excel in both of these areas, but are often too bulky to function well in modern fast-paced shooting environments, leaving majority of DPs to pick from products that aren’t up to spec. This missing link creates problems for everyone.

At a minimum, it adds stress on the set—but far more severe issues arise when shots look completely different in post than they did on the day of the shoot.
SmallHD has changed this with the DP7-PRO OLED-SX—the first on-camera monitor to accurately reproduce the cinema and broadcast colour gamuts in true high definition resolution.

Up until 2011, SmallHD was the only monitor manufacturer providing an on-camera solution that offered a true high-definition resolution, giving the DP with a crystal clear view of their shot.

Today, SmallHD has bridged the remaining gap to large, reference quality studio monitors with a 7.7-inch OLED display that accurately represents over 99% of the Rec.709 broadcast gamut and over 97% of the DCI-P3 cinema gamut. This level of color quality on-camera means the cinematographer will have zero surprises in post production.

“It has always seemed backwards to us that the people responsible for acquiring amazing content have the most limited monitoring options,” says Dale Backus, Co-Founder of SmallHD. “The DP7-PRO OLED-SX is designed to eliminate any visual uncertainty at the camera.”
