At a dealer meeting for Blackmagic Design at NAB a photo slipped out of a series of banners with a Blackmagic Production Camera 4K for $3995 and a $995 Pocket Cinema Camera on them. A few peeps tweeted the same photo but let’s go with @michaelkammes as he at least spelled the name of the company right so we will credit the pic to him. Make what you will with it.
Going off the banners and some info grabbed from Twitter followers we know the following about the Blackmagic Production 4K camera and the Pocket Cinema camera:
Blackmagic Production 4K camera: s35 sensor, global shutter Ultra HD 4k support, built in SSD recorder, touch screen metadata entry, Compressed CinemaDNG RAW and ProRes, recording Thunderbolt, and EF lens compatibility. price is $3395 and includes Davinci Resolve and UltraScope.
Pocket Cinema camera: Super 16 sensor, 1080p, super wide 13 steps dynamic range, built in SD card recorder, high resolution LCD, ProRes and Lossless CinemaDNG, active Micro Four Thirds compatibility, micro HDMI monitoring with overlays. Price is $995.
