Cooke Optics have announced that Zeiss is the latest manufacturer to join the /i Technology partnership, pledging to build support for the /i Technology protocol into its products.
In addition Canon, which joined the /i Technology partnership in April this year, has built /i support into the CINE-SERVO 50-1000mm T5.0-8.9 Ultra-Telephoto Zoom lens that was launched last month.
Cooke’s /i Technology enables film and digital cameras to automatically record key lens data for every frame shot and provide it to post-production teams digitally.
It streamlines production and post, saves time and cost, and eliminates guesswork while enabling greater creative freedom.
Les Zellan, Chairman and Owner, Cooke Optics, said, “We are delighted to see the commitment of these leading manufacturers to the development and advancement of /i Technology. Including /i support in their cameras and lenses will provide vital lens information to post and VFX teams, allowing them to track shots more accurately, which will save time and money in the post process.”
Leading manufacturers that have adopted the /i Technology protocol are:
Canon Cinematography Electronics
Global Boom International Ltd (GBI)
Mark Roberts Motion Control
The Pixel Farm
Preston Cinema Systems
Vision Research (Ametek)
