In February 2015 the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences recognized the designers of the Leica Summilux-C cine lenses from CW Sonderoptic with Academy Plaques.
To honor the event CW Sonderoptic hosted an event at the Leica Store in Los Angeles and spoke with the main people behind the development of these lenses about the motivations and process of innovative cine lens design.
