Schneider Optics’ Industry First 1-Stop Circular Pol and More Filters At NAB Booth #C6037
Schneider Optics is headlining its 2016 NAB booth # C6037 with a line up of new front-of-the-lens filters starting with the first 1-Stop Circular Polarizer designed for professional cinematography. With a mere single-stop exposure loss, it is the solution for today’s popular low-light shooting, while providing polarizer efficiency that is magnitudes better than linear polarizers. With the 1-Stop Circular Pol, glare and reflections are minimized while full color saturation remains, minus any of the inconsistencies of linear polarizers. It is available in popular sizes including 4×4, 4×5.65, 6.6×6.6 and custom.
In keeping with the increased dynamic range of contemporary cameras, Schneider expands its Emmy® award-winning Platinum IRND filter line that limits the light striking the camera’s CCD or CMOS imager to the visible spectrum, dramatically reducing IR spillage. While previously offering 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2, 1.5, 1.8, and 2.1, the new addition tops the line at 2.4 (8-stops). These filters are available in all standard video and cine sizes.
Schneider’s .15 ND MPTV filter makes a comeback. Back by popular demand, the .15 density light refining filter rejoins the Neutral Density line-up which also includes: .3, .6, .9, 1.2, 1.5 and 1.8.
The latest addition to the True-Streak® effects filter line, the new Star filters come in clear and red/white/blue versions, just in time for election season and July 4th. The 6-point star effect filters, join the popular True-Streaks (blue, red, orange, green, yellow, pink, violet, clear) for that anamorphic streak look, as well as the Confetti’s that create mini-streaks that appear as a sparkle or fireworks effect as the filter is rotated. Custom Star filters can be specially ordered in a choice of 4, 6 or 8 points and any of the 8 True-Streak colors can be custom combined.
Also new at NAB are Sony E-mounts for the Schneider-Kreuznach FF-Prime high-resolution digital cinematography lenses (25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm) for 4K and beyond. All are available in interchangeable mounts for Canon EF, Nikon F and PL, in addition to the new Sony E mounts.
The company will also unveil clear optical flats to fit the 111mm (M111) front thread on the Fujinon Cabrio lens family, and the 112mm front of Canon Cine zooms. They offer Schneider’s water white glass with outstanding optical clarity, at exceptional value.
