The Sony 35mm PMW-F3 camera looks like a normal camcorder and is about the size of the Sony PMW-EX1 camera. The 35mm F3 camera body is like a stretched out cube and will be equipped with PL lens mount.
Like most Sony camcorders the PMW-F3 camera has a top handle with rear viewfinder and a microphone cradle for top mic positioning. On the cameras handle and on the cameras body there is several 1/4″ and 3/8″ threads for mounting accessories from.
A flip out LCD monitor screen is on the left of the camera body as too the usual controls: ND Filter (Clear, ND1 and ND2), shutter, gain, white balance, a direct button for 5600K, Zebra, Peaking, Status, Time Code, Display, and Battery information.
The Sony PMW-F3 has four Assign Buttons, and 2 Audio Channel Control Pan Pots. The Menu is placed at the back of body and the scroll wheel is similiar to the Sony PMW-EX1 cameras. A Jog Wheel on the cameras side allows you to control the vision frame rate. The Sony PMW-F3 camera can be powered via batteries or via XLR 4 Pin connector.
The BNC connectors at the back of the camera are for Timecode input BNC, Timecode output BNC, Genlock input BNC, Video out BNC, HD SDI X 2 BNC,and SDI out BNC. There is a USB Mini Type-B connector, DC input XLR type male 4 pin, Remote 8-pin, Spare, Lens remote, HDMI output HDMI connector Type A, i.LINK (FireWire IEEE1394).
Also the cards slots at the rear of the camera are for SxS cards X 2.
