OwlDolly are very excite to share a feature length film titled Better Friends Than Mountains from Frontier Alliance International, directed by Dalton Thomas. The film is a documentary about the Kurdish people in Iraq and how FAI is helping the refugees fleeing ISIS. The filmmakers wanted a gyro stabilizer that would allow them to film, while keeping a low profile in sensitive locations.
FAI’s team used the GyroSpeed with a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, metabones, Samyang 14mm lens.
This film showcases the ability of the GyroSpeed to handle the rigors of traveling and performing in an extremely remote locations. The stabilizer weighs about 3 pounds and it can perform the camera movement of a shoulder rig, a stabilizer, a slider, and a travel jib.
These features, matched with the price of $599 offer a great deal of value in one package.
Special Thanks goes to the Kurdish people, FAI’s team of aid workers, and Dalton Thomas.

"The Kurds have no friends but the mountains."
-Kurdish Proverb
Better Friends Than Mountains is a documentary about the tragic history of the Kurdish people, the mounting geopolitical conflict in the Middle East, and the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
There are approximately 31 million Kurds spread across 13 countries in and around 'the cradle of civilization.' They constitute the world's largest stateless people and remain one of the most unreached and unengaged people groups on earth.
This scorned and marginalized people may very well be the ripest harvest field in the Muslim world.
At this critical juncture in history, as the battle for the destiny of the Middle East rages on, it is imperative that the Church in the nations understands what is happening in the region and how the Lord would have us offer ourselves as living sacrifices on the altar of His will in the days ahead.
We believe that the Kurdish people should have better friends than mountains.
