“With today’s production abbreviated production schedules and the need to move and set up shots quickly, shooters are looking for ways to fulfill those needs – and still be creative,” says Robert Kulesh, VP of Sales and Marketing for MSE. “They need simple, easy and mobile options when a tripod can’t or won’t fit the camera positioning requirements. The WEDGE is the answer. It sets up in minutes – whether stand-alone or steadied by just about anything for those hard to get to locations.”
The WEDGE is a simple three-point triangular stand that is light, portable, as well as fast and easily configurable. Simply attach your film, video or DSLR camera on this stable mount and you will be able to capture low POV shots and more that are rock-steady and increase the variety of creative shots.
“During many of my set visits, I would see the camera operator and AC sitting on the ground, with the camera resting on a sandbag in an effort to get a low POV,” recalls Tyler Phillips, VP of Product Management and Marketing for MSE. “I would hear the DP or director asking for a camera pan, which is very difficult and sometimes impossible to do on a sand bag.”
The CAM Tank solves that and more. It accepts both large camera plates as well as direct mount, and is another option for extremely low shots without taking away your ability to pan and tilt the camera. CAM Tank is also a great option for Dutch angles when mounted to a fluid head or shots designed to be pointed straight down off a fluid head or jib.
