24SHOTS have announced the re-launch of their Kickstarter campaign for the Silencer, electronic follow focus controlled by a trigger, and lowered the price.
There are three versions of the Silencer. Prices for the Lite version start at $250 and the Pro version starts at $450, a significant discount from their previous Kickstarter price.
The reboot is largely due to the company’s rigorous work of reducing part and tooling costs significantly and privately financing the tooling startup costs.
While the cost cut doesn’t mean changing the quality or function of the systems, it has paved the way for dramatically lower reward costs for their backers and a new goal of $28,000 for the new campaign. They have also added new stretch goals for a Silencer to fit 19mm rails and a gear drive conversion kit for the Silencer motors that will be handy on some lenses.
On the first day of the new campaign the Silencer rocketed past 50% of their goal and was listed on the top ten on Kicktraq.
