Alrighty then if you like your camera comparison tests quick then, well don’t blink on this one as it goes for 1:40 from The Delivery Men.
Sony FS7, FS5, A7Rii and Canon C100 Camera Test from The Delivery Men on Vimeo.
This is a quick camera test I did to see the difference in colors, resolution, banding etc. so I could have a better understanding of each camera. This is not scientific, I’m sharing this video so you can determine for yourself what may be the best camera for your type of work.
Note: Download the full H.264 version for better analysis. ** In ProRes the FS7 is the only camera that does not exhibit any banding in the blue sky.
Here’s the settings and info –
All cameras used the Canon L 24mm lens. On the Sony cameras I used the Metabones EF mount adapter.
I shot both with the best internal codec of each camera then used the Convergent Design Odyssey 7Q+ recording in ProResHQ.
Cameras used –
Sony FS7 – Slog3 // S-Gamut3.Cine in UHD // XAVC – I // 24p
Sony FS5 – Slog3 // S-Gamut3.Cine in UHD // XAVC – L // 24p
Sony A7Rii – Slog2 in UHD // XAVC – S // 24p
Canon C100 – Clog 1080p // AVCHD // 24p
Color Grading –
I did a quick color grade in DaVinci Resolve 12. I used ImpulZ Vis 200t 3D LUT for each specific log mode Slog3, Slog2, Clog. Then made some minor adjustments to try and match each camera a little better.
Let me know if you have any questions as I'm sure I've missed something here and I’ll try to answer as soon as I can. Thanks!
