Mitch Gross from Abelcine has shown off the new s35mm Vision Research Phantom Flex4K camera at NAB 2013. The Phantom Flex4K camera allows you to shoot at 1000fps at 4K and up to 2000fps at 2K pixel resolution.
As you can probably guess from the name, the camera’s most notable feature is the ability to shoot up to 1000fps in 4K. Other features include a Super-35 CMOS sensor, 4096×2304 (16:9) resolution, plus an impressive 12+ stops of dynamic range.
The small, lightweight body includes record & playback controls on both sides and a simple menu interface for maximum ease-of-use. Similar to previous Phantoms, it is available in multiple lens mounts — PL, PV, Nikon F/G & Canon EF. With this camera, Vision Research really strove to create an all-in-one production machine.
