From Vishal Bhogade…
Glidecam meets BirdyCam2 meets FeiyuTech G3u Gimbal from Vishal Bhogade on Vimeo.
Compilation of shots while practising and testing out various stabilization rigs.
This is NOT a demo reel.
Tried not to cherry pick the best shots for each setup. So you can see shaky/unstable footage at times.
Each rig has its own merits and demerits.
I find Glidecam easy to manevour but a bit more demanding to setup.
Birdycam2 is quick to setup but little difficult to track subject without practice. Birdycam gives much usable footage at ~50mm focal length, which is quite difficult to achieve from Glidecam (unless you have lot of practice).
Birdycam (as with any digital gimbal) allows shots to go from very low level to high level without much issues.
Glidecam setup:
HD4000, Canon 6D with Canon 24-70mm F2.8L @24mm
BirdyCam2 setup:
Panasonic GH4 with Tokina 11-16mm F2;8 @ 16mm with Metabones speedbooster.
FeiyuTech G3 Ultra with Hero4 Black edition
PS:
Did not pay much attention to exposure/white balance while testing. Focus was set to infinity in most of the cases with depth of field set to as much as we could for a given exposure setting.
