A very quick look at the eMotimo Spectrum st4 with the newest firmware that allows for fast pano / gigapixel shooting.
With the latest R005 firmware release from eMotimo, the spectrum st4 just added fast pano/gigapixel shooting to it’s resume. Here’s the spectrum st4 knocking out a 24 frame shot (3 rows by 8 columns) with perfect 25% overlap on a 42MP Sony A7R2. From start frame to end shutter close, the sequence took 16.2 seconds. The end result of this 24 frame shot on a is the most boring 475 Megapixel beast of our walls. We can do better, but wanted to share a quick BTSs of the speed. We know you can do better. Upgrade your firmware and get out and shoot!
The eMotimo spectrum st4 is a 4-axis motion controller with pan and tilt built in. It is meant for cameras 12 lbs and lower. It integrates and drives 2 additional powered axis like slide and focus. It is controlled by either the included wireless gaming remote, or the navigation joystick on the side of the unit.
For this video, the eMotimo spectrum st4 was paired to an iFootage Shark S1 slider in the above video enabling 3 axis (pan, tilt, slide). You can find more information about this slider or purchase the bundle.
